Good Christmas customer service

Thinking back over the build up to Christmas build up, my customer service heros were the staff in Waterstones who helped me find the books for my father and the lady in the home shop Potters who helped me find a clever present for my super-cook sister in law.

The first was an employee of a large organisation and the second worked for a small family business. But good customer service is valuable where ever you find it.

Stressed sales people

People in retail have to work every day over Christmas apart from Christmas day itself. But how did they handle the long hours and stress over the Christmas period? Where they helpful and courteous at all times or did they become grumpy on occasion?

Wat about the shops, was it the small businesses which were courteous and the big businesses which were rude, or was it the other way around?

Or was the courteousness linked with the type of business, the age of the sales person or the time of day?

Some companies are great at looking after us at Christmas as they’ve got great products and excellent customer service.
